The city of Lincoln landfill charges additional fees for tires, appliances, and yard-waste (grass, leaves and pine needles during yard-waste season April 1st through November 30th) that are found inside the container. These additional fees will be passed on to the customer. In addition, overweight fines from an overloaded container that are assessed by the Nebraska State Patrol will be passed on to the customer. It is our business philosophy to comply with all city, state, and federal regulations.
Waste oil, antifreeze, lead acid batteries, and household hazardous waste are among the commonly banned items from the landfill. Empty paint cans are allowed if lids are removed and residual paint is completely dry. For more information on how to properly dispose of these hazardous materials please contact the Lincoln Health Department at 402-441-8040 or visit them at the Lincoln/Lancaster County Health Dept
